Bold Living 2012 – Interview #24

Each Friday, a person who is making bold moves, living well, nurturing their creativity, following their passions, and making magic will be featured on Bold Living Today.

Today’s interview is with the incredibly giving and amazingly talented Sue Frederick. Sue is a career intuitive, author, master coach, and gives the warmest hugs. Sue is the type of person who sees your inner brilliance and pinpoints what may be holding back – right after she meets you. Her energy sets you at ease and you find yourself ready to learn the message that will instantly change our life.

Sue is busy working on a new book and a creative program that will gracefully impact the world. I’m happy she was able to set aside some time for this interview.

question 1:

I love your book, I See Your Dream Job. What motivated you to write it?

***

{Sue}

I had a 20 year career as a journalist doing newspaper reporting, being an editor of a national health magazine and eventually the VP of Content for a health website in the rise of the dotcom era of the 90s. When the dotcom world crashed, I found myself an unemployed single mom with a mortgage to pay. It was a major reinvention point for me. I had been tired of my journalism career for a long time and yet couldn’t let go of it. When it was ripped from my hands I asked myself, “What have I always loved doing? What are my natural gifts? When all else is stripped away, who am I?

The answer was clear: I had always been intuitive even as a child. I had always had a deeply spiritual perspective on life – different from mainstream ideas. And I had always seen the great potential in others; when I was a career counselor at the University of Missouri in the 70s, or an Outward Bound Mountaineering Instructor or a journalist interviewing people about their life and work. It was the common thread through all my work.

I dug deep to find the courage to embrace my truth and reinvent myself. I began seeing clients to coach them to find their true work. I used my intuition to help them and also worked with the birth path information from Pythagoras theory of numbers which I’d studied since 1980. My clients loved the work. And I was able to save my home and raise my daughter without going to a job I hated every day. After awhile, I began writing about my life and work. The final result was the publication of my book I See Your Dream Job in 2009.

{Kanesha} Reinvention can be a scary word and thought for many people, yet we are at a time when it has become so necessary for people to do – specifically for their careers.

question 2:

How can a person combine intuition and traditional career development tools to gauge if they’re on the right track to their dream job?

***

{Sue}

We all have a left brain (our logical mind) and a right brain (our intuitive spiritual creative mind). In our culture we’re addicted to left-brain logic and we pay little attention to the information coming to us from our right brains. This is why so many people are unhappy in their careers. They’ve chosen them only from the left-brain logical perspective. I teach clients (and the coaches I train) to access both sides of the brain to see their true work. My book I See Your Dream Job explains the technique I use and empowers anyone to reinvent their life using intuition, meditation, and by taking practical baby steps forward in the direction that “feels” right.

question 3:

I love when you wrote,Dream of your amazing new life and career. What will it look like? Focus only on the future and what you want to happen next.Why is this a challenge for a lot of people?

***

{Sue}

Most of us are addicted to fear based, left-brain thinking. When we shift to a view of the future that makes us happy, we shift into our right-brains, our intuition. This is a new process for many people who are deeply intent on believing that the physical world and its limited beliefs are all there is. Yet once we open up to a new possibility and take steps in that direction, miracles happen. We get pulled into the right direction, and opportunities come to us that we could have never imagined.

***

{Kanesha} Yes, openness is the key.

question 4:

Tell us about your current book projects:

***
{Sue}

My newest book I See Your Soul Mate: An Intuitive’s Guide to Finding & Keeping Love (St. Martin’s Press) will be in bookstores September 18. I’m so excited about this book. It helps people realize that when we’re not being true to who we really are and what we came here to do – nothing works right – not even relationships. But once we’re on our true path we attract our soul mate – the partner who will support us in being our best self. Using our intuition (right brain) to navigate love is essential and I teach how to do this in my book.

My next book, I See Your Loved Ones on the Other Side (St. Martin’s Press), will be in bookstores September 2013. This is my most important book. My husband died from cancer when I was 29 and that experience opened me up to see the other realms and communicate directly with departed loved ones. Now I teach people to communicate directly with their departed and to see why they’re still here. This newest book will help anyone who is suffering the loss of a loved one.
