Flow: The Flow of Thought – Chapter 6

Hey Readers!

I thought I’d shake it up a bit and create a podcast about chapter 6.

The funny thing…I just re-listened to it and noticed I said chapter 7 instead of chapter 6. Oopsie. What was I thinking?

I assure you I am discussing chapter 6.

My biggest takeaways from this chapter were:

  • We have control over our minds and thoughts.

  • If our thoughts are not ordered in a way that is fulfilling to us – personally – we will always experience mental chaos.

  • Daydreaming is a powerful tool for mind play.

  • If we experience enjoyment while thinking – this can help heighten our quality of life.

  • We can create our own rules for thinking.

  • It is up to us – individually – to decide what counts.

  • Self-communication is powerful and we can determine the value of thoughts, memories, and experiences by how connected they are to our own Flow.

Let me know what you think and how reading this book is going for you.

I hope you enjoy the YOUwork (via the podcast) and are spending some time daydreaming, playing with ideas, and exploring ways mental activities can bring enjoyment.

Podcast! Very cool way to shake it up. (Plus I get to close my eyes and imagine I’m with you.)
I like how you draw parallels between coaching and control over mental processes.
And I ADORE the reminder that we choose what we want to think about…. e.g. DAYDREAMING!

So glad you enjoyed it, Betsy.
I love to daydream and cook up fun in the middle of all the things I have going on. It’s like a nice mental vacation checkout.
