Today’s interview is with Tammie ‘Hollywoodstylz’ Lindsey. She is a glamour diva with a down to earth style. Tammie is a true artist in helping people transform their outlook on self-care, inner beauty, and making daily life a red carpet event. When I met Tammie, she was a feisty young person who could not be bothered following other people’s rules. I remember telling Tammie she would be great at running her own empire and showcasing her flair for living boldly. That’s exactly what she did.
question 1:
You are an incredible hair stylist. What drew you to this career?

What drew me to be a stylist…… I grew up watching my mom and grandmother doing hair. To be honest I hated it. {chuckle} However when I turned 17, I started watching different styles and I wondered, “Hmmmmm, could I do that?” and after practice once or twice it became natural.

It sounds like you could not resist your inner voice and natural talent.
question 2:
How do you nurture your creative edge through your work?

My creativity comes in many ways. Sometime I can dream of a style and wonder how it will look on a person. Or sometimes I can see a style on someone and put a twist to it and it becomes a HOLLYWOOD original. Most of my creativity is determined by my client and their job.

When you work with your clients – how do you develop trust with them – so you can let your talent and creativity flow?

The first way to gain trust in your clients is to treat them as though they’re family and to make them feel like a HOLLYWOOD STAR. When u make them feel good on the inside and out they will give you freedom to do whatever you want.

What project(s) are you currently working on?

My most current project I am working on is a big Chicago hair show which is taking place December 9th. It’s gonna take lots of planning and hard work. My other up coming project is platform artistry. I will be teaching a class on the perfect feather placement and layer cut, on November 19, and I am very excited about this.

I am loving down to earth person. I live life to the fullest without any regrets at all. I love going to the club with my girls, and I love to dance. I also love spending time with my daughter. She is my joy.
