Personal Boundaries 101 - Are Yours Intact?

Personal Boundaries 101 - Are Yours Intact?

This month I facilitated three different workshops.

Topics:
Productivity
Vision boards + Bold Living Diet
Hacking your planner

One theme that came up in each of these workshops was personal boundaries.

Do you have personal boundaries?

Have you explored what personal boundaries can do for you?

In order for any of us to live boldly, prioritize our goals, have space to explore our creativity, and to keep our time working for us – you need personal boundaries.

Having personal boundaries is a critical factor that ensures we are developing relationships that are mutually respectful, supportive, and caring.

Personal boundaries help us further develop an open mindset - because when we set limits for acceptable behavior from people around us – we prevent them from taking advantage of our time, space, or energy.

Is this selfish?

Yes.

Is it negative selfishness?

No.

Weak boundaries leave us in a vulnerable position of overscheduling, trying to constantly please other, and not asking for the help we want or need.

During my workshops, I gave an overview on how to build up or maintain boundaries.

Here’s a summary:

Set a daily intention.
Get clear on how you want your day to flow and what you want to accomplish. Use this intention as a filter when you feel your boundaries are about to be breeched – or when you feel like you are allowing your boundaries to get too loose.

Get comfortable with saying no.
Practice saying no. Create a list of different ways to say no – to help you uphold your personal boundaries.

Monitor your energy with people and different situations.
Align your daily task list (schedule) with your energy. Make appointments and complete tasks based on your energy.

Do you have personal boundaries?

Have you explored what personal boundaries can do for you?

Do you want additional help with setting or maintaining your boundaries?
