Confession: Self-Rejection almost ruined my business

Confession: Self-Rejection almost ruined my business

Happy Monday, Bold-Thinkers!

I wanna share something about my self-rejection moments.

My workshops, events, and running the Bold Living Today community takes a lot of work.

There is only one me and there’s a lot of work.

Five years ago, I did it all by myself.

Why?

Because I thought since I was an entrepreneur, running my own business, and working as my own boss – that’s just how you did it.

Did that work out well?

Not at all.

Fear and comparison set in immediately.

I was losing my mind and starting to hate the work I loved the most. I was stuck in the mindset of – if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Bold-thinkers, I had to declutter my thinking and untangle from that mindset right away!

The easiest way to burnout, quit, and yield to self-rejection - is to go it alone.

To give myself some relief, here are 3 shifts I made and often share with my clients.

Be Realistic

Often we put so much pressure on ourselves to get things done, to have them done perfectly, and to make sure others think we have it all on lock. We think “adulting” means you have it all figured out at all times. Let that go. Release that pressure. Ask for help.

Count your accomplishments

What went well for you this week? How did you acknowledge your accomplishments? Use your accomplishments as a pep talk when things get hard.

Redirect your inner critic

What we say to ourselves always matters. If your inner critic is behaving badly and telling you mean things, redirect it.
