When does Sunday turn into “Smonday” for you?
What is “Smonday”?
Smonday is that instance when you are having a leisurely Sunday – full of relaxation, moving at your own pace, and taking care of yourself in a thoughtful way – and then all of a sudden, the anxiety of Monday arrives and takes over your mind, thoughts, and energy.
So when does “Smonday” show up for you?
What triggers the urgency, rushed thoughts, nervous energy, and massive mental push to do more?
As you ready yourself for the week ahead – and what Monday has to offer – think about ways to unrush yourself this week.
Here are 3 suggestions:
Focus on enjoying baking the pie – instead of trying to having the biggest slice. This means you should build and create weekly tasks that compliment each other. Put your attention on selecting the right ingredients (work/activities) and temperature (support team) so you can have a week of sweet success.
Remember your power comes from pleasure. Scheduling time to play, rest, and have fun – while you focus on getting things done – keeps burnout low and productivity high. Be sure to allot enough time to nurture your creativity, take care of your mental/physical wellness, and enjoy time doing nothing.
Keep better company. Energy is a powerful thing and many of us forgot that we absorb and take on the energy of people around us. Think about the type of energy that makes you feel happy, whole, and bold. Then think about people who provide that. Make sure you have access to those people this week.
